7 Months..... where does the time go

The girls are 7 months old (August 22), and my they are growing quickly.

Kathryn is very very long.  She is currently wearing 12 month clothes and quickly out growing them and sometimes she wears 18 month clothes.  She eats at 6am, 9am, noon, 3pm, 6pm with a dream feed around 10:00.  She is also eating cereal and vegetables one to two times a day.  She is getting very good and opening and closing her month to eat.  She is also learning how to swallow the food she is eating from the spoon.  It is very cute to see her react to the different vegetables we offer her.  So far she has tried peas, carrots, sweet potatoes and squash.

Kathryn is developing the skill to reach over her head and kind of roll to her side independently.  She has not mastered rolling over by herself, but she is getting the hang of it when we practice with her.  However, she is very active with her legs.  She likes to bicycle kick/flutter kick with her legs.  She also likes to push her self up with her legs and push her back off the ground in a bridge position.

She is able to sit in the bumbo chair for longer periods of time.  However she sits up better, and plays on her tummy better when she watches her favorite musical star.

Anna is growing up a storm.  She is still enjoying 22 calorie formula.  She eats at 6am, 9am, noon, 3pm, 6pm with a dream feed around 11:00.  She is also eating cereal and vegetables one to two times a day.  She usually eats about 3 spoonfuls and decides she is interested in something else.  She is still getting the hang of opening and closing her mouth when she is fed with the spoon.  However she has mastered the skill of chewing on the strap on the high chair as well as shoving the bib in her mouth.  :)

So far she has tried peas, carrots, sweet potatoes and squash, but since she isn't as good as an eater we usually just feed her cereal to help her learn the skill of eating.

Anna is starting to get bigger cheeks and she is starting to look more like Kathryn's twin.

The girls are really starting to take notice of one another, especially when they are laying on a blanket together.  They gaze into each others eyes and smile and chit chat away on the blanket.  It is so adorable.

During tummy time, they are both able to push up on their arms while they hold their heads up.  Anna is a little stronger than Kathryn, but Kathryn's head is a little bigger than Anna's.  :)  They also reach for toys when they are on their tummy's and backs.  Then can kind of move their bodies clockwise on their backs and sometimes on their tummy's while they are reaching for toys.

When you hold the girls, or when they sit on your lap they have a lot more control of their torso and head.  It will be interested to see how long it takes for the girls to be able to sit independently.

When the weather isn't too hot, we enjoy taking the girls for walks outside.  I think they like to watch the birds and trees move during our walks around the park.

To get the girls laughing you can try to touch their hands to their feet, tickle them, or smother the girls with kisses.  Their laughs are so jovial and happy, it is such a wonderful sound to hear.
