Uncle Ryan meets the Girls for the first time

This post is a little late, but better late than never.

Uncle Ryan flew into Indy from Austin to visit the girls for the first time.  My parents were in town too, and we all had a great time.

Ryan held the girls and played with the girls during tummy time.  He also fed Kathryn.

But I think his overall goal of the weekend was to brainwash the girls to become future Penn State Scholar Athletes.  Sam and I said the girls college choice can be influenced by providing full funding for the favorite institution.

Both Girls are very healthy and we caught them in the act doing their business while Ryan was holding Kathryn and Dad was holding Anna.  It was hilarious!

My parents love to sing to the girls.  The picture below is of Grammy and Poppy singing a duet of you are my sunshine.  So cute, as they used to sing that song to Ryan and me when we were little.

This weekend Sam taught the family how to make lobster tails.  The boys went to the store to pick up the meal and make the meal for the family.  It was delicious.  Best meal to have at home for a celebration of two healthy girls.  We had a great time the entire weekend, the girls even went out to lunch on Saturday afternoon.

They also went on a walk with my Mom in their stroller.  The girls loved it, and my Mom loved it too.  It is very enjoyable to walk outside in nice weather watching your beautiful granddaughters sleep instead of fox news on the treadmill.  :)

My brother and Dad helped out in the yard and mowed our yard for the first time.  Even though the weather has been horrible this spring, the grass was green and growing.  We appreciated every one's help around the house.

Lots of Friends

Two weeks ago the girls had a lot of visitors stop by to see them.  The girls love to meet new people and stare at new faces.  Windy, Gigi, Megan, Jeff, Arleen, so glad you could all meet the girls.  Greta was lucky enough for Kathryn to be awake when we came back from dinner the other night and Greta was able to feed Kathryn.  How cute!

While we had a few nice days of weather, the girls and I headed outside for a walk every day.  Some days were warmer than others, but when it is chilly the girls look so cute in their matching jackets.  If only you could see Anna in her jacket by herself it is as long as she is tall.  :)

Kathryn

Anna

A few of the day were a lot warmer than the others, and the girls were able to wear matching onesie's Uncle Ryan bought for them.

Kathryn and Anna's eye's have been developing.  They watch and follow people and objects around the room when the move.  They love looking at lights and shadows.  They both have beautiful smiles, and are starting to smile occasionally when they are enjoying something.

We broke out a new toy for the girls to enjoy, the bumbo chair!  It is a little big on Anna and Kathryn needs to be watched closely when she is sitting in the bumbo, but they both enjoyed exploring a new object.

Kathryn enjoys sprawling out on the boppy pillow.  It is like a kid's lazy boy chair.  What more could you ask for?

Out and About

We have kept the girls inside and away from the mass public for a while in order for the girls to get older and stronger.  However, since enough time had passed we decided to bring the girls out into the world this weekend.

The first stop was Saturday morning breakfast.  Like perfect girls they snoozed while their parents enjoyed a breakfast out.  I am hoping we can make this a tradition, we will see if Sam agrees with me.  :)

The second stop was church for Easter Sunday.  It was a success, with a few interruptions.  Anna got a little hungry so Sam fed her and held her during the service.  Kathryn got uncomfortable in her carseat, so I picked her up and she spit up all over me.  Thankfully I brought extra burp clothes to wipe us down until the service was over.  We are so thankful for all the Christ has given us, we grateful to Praise him during the service for our many blessings.  We look forward to next week and trying to bring the girls to church again.  :)

The third stop was a walk around the neighborhood.  The weather finally reached 60, and we took the girls for a walk outside.  It was wonderful.

It was not a good weekend for Indiana Basketball as they lost on Thursday, but we did catch a few moments of a few basketball games between feedings this weekend.

We tried to get a family picture of the girls on Easter. We were able to get my parents and the girls, but we had more spit up episodes so never made it to take pictures of Sam and I with the girls.  However, it's all about the girls and they look so cute in their Easter flower headbands.

Happy Easter to All!

Grammy K and Grandpa

My Mom came into town for the week to help out around the house and with the girls.  As always it is super nice to have an extra set of hands around the house.  We had lots of fun with tummy time.  I was able to run errands while my Mom stayed with the girls, and she took shifts in the feeding rotation.  It was a blessing to have her here for the week.

My Dad also joined us for the weekend.  He had not seen the girls since the first few days after their birth, and WOW have the girls changed.

We celebrated my parents birthday's while they were here.  This is my Mom's birthday picture, she looks too young to celebrate her 60th birthday!

Making Heads Roll

That's right, these girls are getting good looks from all angles, because they can turn their head from side to side.

The girls have been busy practicing tummy time.  I saw Kathryn turn her head from one side to the other on Saturday March 23, 2013.  I thought she was able to do the task, but never witnessed the act myself until Saturday, way to go Kathryn.

Kathryn needed the perfect tummy time outfit, and then turning her head was so easy!  Love the ruffles!!

On Monday April 1, 2013 I saw Anna turn her head from one side to the other while practicing tummy time.  We also thought Anna had the capabilities to do this task, but never witnessed her in the act moving her head.  The morning on the last day my Mom was here we saw her turn it.  She was so proud.

Both of the girls are getting stronger with the neck, upper back muscles.

Kathryn likes to whip her head back and forth while you hold her as well as hold her head up on her own while you hold her for intermittent periods.

We are proud Parents.
